The Stolen Moans’ debut full-length album, Elbows Don’t Have Eyes, is a 13-track shapeshifter of experimental pop, blistering punk (pre- and post-) and haunted, metal-tinged noise beauty.
Part concept album, part sonic blueprint for survival, EDHE draws blood from the absurd and the sublime alike, featuring tracks about workplace misogyny, feline kings, romantic yearning disguised as debate, anarchist art manifestos (Dada Catapult), and the unquenchable hunger for something More. It’s a record where surrealist art history rubs shoulders with riot grrrl growls and lush, cinematic sprawl, beautiful and brutal in equal measure.
Imagine if a riot grrrl zine were fed through a synthesizer, rewired by surrealist engineers, and dumped into the goth club at last call. That’s the record.
Originally scheduled to drop on (June) Friday the 13th, this delay only sharpened its fangs. Fittingly, the album now arrives on 7/11, a date reserved for strange deals and stranger late-night snacks. Be sure to stock up and Press Play.
